I love this series. Eve and Roarke are the perfect power couple and the series just keeps getting better and better. I highly recommend this series! It's funny, because though I don't really care for Nora Roberts, I love her work as JD Robb.

I loved all three of these stories. I've been in kind of a historical funk for the last few months, not wanting to read anything but contemps. RG's story here is just that, but the other 2 are historicals. I was kind of bored and decided to go ahead and read them and I was really glad. Even SL, who tends to irritate me, pulled through and delivered beautifully on this one!

Highly recommended!

Lucy Monroe has got to be one of the most wonderful author's I've read recently. She never ceases to amaze me. This lastest book is a gift from her that I received as a special offer she made to some people. I guess it's only being released in the UK, so I feel very special to have a copy! I received it on Sunday (it was in my mailbox from either Friday or Saturday) and sat down to read it immediately! It was great.

I am, however, extremely disappointed, because I didn't realize it was part of a series. This one apparently follows The Italian's Suitable Wife. I'm on a mission to find that one, now. :D

Kudos, Lucy! You did great....again.

This is another reread. Lauren kind of got on my nerves. She likes to move around a lot. And once she feels to comfortable, she gets scared and moves. Dragging her poor little boy with her. She's proud and doesn't like accepting help from anyone.

One thing I bugged me was Nick constantly saying Dude. It just didn't flow. I know I'll say dude, but it just comes out naturally. It didn't sound right coming from Nick. Kind of got annoying after a while.

Give a C+.

This was all right cute read. Some of the secrets were hilarious. And to have them all revealed on TV. I would've quit my job and moved far, far away.

I like how Connor got all paranoid and started asking Emma about she liked and didn't like about him. I didn't like her friend, I can't spell her name right now, who almost exposed the secret. Ugh, I almost killed her myself. Also like how she didn't tell Artemes she was feeding the plant orange juice.

I give it a B

We return to the city of Gospel. This isn't a sequel to True Confessions. You do see the quirky characters from the first book, but hardly hear of Dylon and Hope.

Ex hockey player Rob has moved back to Gospel. Kate has moved back to Gospel. Instantly attracted to each. Of course, this isn't the first time they've met. No, they met in a bar where Kate had propositioned Rob for a night stand. She wanted one night to be a bad girl. Rob turns her down and they meet 2 weeks later in Gospel.

Didn't care for this one at all. I really didn't care for Rob. Just rubbed me the wrong way. C-

True Confessions by Rachel Gibson

Dylan is all too real...and soon Hope is forced to face the awful truth — she's been too long without a man. But once she gets wind of a Hollywood actress somehow mixed up Dylan's life, Hope realizes that if they are to have a future together, he has some true confessing to do.


This kind of started out slow for me. It started to pick up in the middle. I was really interested in Hope trying to find out about what happened with the previous sheriff. Reports say he was into kinky sex, was doing other stuff and shot himself before he could be arrested. I really wanted Hope to find out if there was more to the story.

Then there was Dixie Howe. The author spends sometime describing how Dixie wants Dylan. How Dixie is determined to land him. I expected some kind of cat fight to happen or rivalry to go on between Hope and Dixie. There was nothing.

When I first met Hope, I thought she would be a shallow, spoiled brat. I was please to find out she wasn't. Dylan was an all right hero. I felt rushed at the end and again like there is more to the story.

This was all right read. I give a C

Undressed by Stef Ann Holm

As a deputy in Majestic, Colorado, Lanie Prescott doesn't see enough action issuing parking tickets, so she decides to accept a law-enforcement job elsewhere. On the night of her going-away party, the job offer is postponed, and Lanie is stick in her hometown -- unemployed.
Maintaining a brave face is hard -- especially when she meets her replacement. He's tall, he's gorgeous and he heart beats so fast she should be arrested for imagining all the ways she could use her handcuffs. Paul Cabrera left the Miami P.D. to distance himself from an old case that haunts him to this day. But his pursuit of a quiet life is hardly that with the sexy Lanie living next door.
When an unthinkable crime occurs in the small town, Lanie is back on theforce, and what began and an arresting attraction between Paul and Lanie turns into an internal affair of the heart. Suddenly, life in Majestic isn't so bad after all.

Another reread. I like this story better than Girl's Night. But the plot is similar.

Laine wants to be cop. She wants to catch the bad guys. Unfortunately, she is given all the mundane jobs to do. Meter maid, crossing guard. You see, the guys are protecting her. Her father was once a cop and died on duty. They don't want to risk her life too. But Lanie doesn't know that.

Paul is a cop transferring from Miami to Majestic. He's getting burnt out and needs a change. Plus there is a case kind of haunting him. He's looking for small town life.

On the night of Lanie's going away party, she breaks her leg, prolonging her stay in Majestic. She's hurt that Paul is taking her job (with a promotion to boot), but she can't help the attraction she feels.

So good story, I enjoyed it more. It's still making a trip back to the UBS though. B-

Dance with the Devil by Sherrilyn Kenyon

Zarek's Point of View:

Dark-Hunter: A soulless guardian who stands between mankind and those who would see mankind destroyed. Yeah, right. The only part of that Code of Honor I got was eternity and solitude.

Insanity: A condition many say I suffer from after being alone for so long. But I don't suffer from my insanity-I enjoy every minute of it.

Trust: I can't trust anyone...not even myself. The only thing I trust in is my ability to do the wrong thing in any situation and to hurt anyonewho gets in my way.

Truth: I endured a lifetime as a Roman slave, and 900 years as an exiled Dark-Hunter. Now I'm tired of enduring. I want the truth about what happened the night I was exiled-I have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Astrid (Greek, meaning star): An exceptional woman who can see straight to the truth. Brave and strong, she is a point of light in the darkness. She touches me and I tremble. She smiles and my cold heart shatters.

Zarek: They say even the most damned man can be forgiven. I never believed that until the night Astrid opened her door to me and made this feral beast want to be human again. Made me want to love and be loved. But how can an ex-slave whose soul is owned by a Greek goddess ever dream of touching, let aloneholding, a fiery star?

This has got to be one of my best reads of 2005. My reread of it this year in 2006, by far it's still my favorite read. So much emotion, so much feeling, for the characters, for the things that happen to the characters and then a sense of wellbeing at the end of the book when the person you think deserves a bit of happiness gets it. I don't think I've cried as much in any other book as I did in this book.I loved Zarek from the moment I met him in Talon's book, but in his book, my love grew all the more and his tortured sould called out to mine. (LOL) Because man, I don't think I've read another hero that I love as much as I love Zarek, except of course Sam Starrett.

But this story was action packed, heart breaking and all ooey gooey good. The roller coaster is the bomb diggity and you seriously need to get out and read this series if you haven't yet, because you're going to love the heck out of it.

This book started out a bit slow for me, I actually started another book before giving up on that one to start this one, I liked this cover and look of the book better. It was cute. The story was slow to build up, but it was a fun sweet read. Rachel Katz and her wacky family are a treat to read about and her personality and friendship with Shelley Peach was too funny to read. When Matt comes into the picture, he's a bit funky and just a tad bit fruity, but that didn't stop me from crushing on him from that first meeting with Rachel.

He got better and better with each page he was in and I just absolutely adored him up until it ended. It was a cute read and I was glad that I finished it, although it's not one of my favorites, I will give it 3 stars out of 5.

Liked the story, LOVED the hero.

Loving the Highlander by Janet Chapman

This is the second book in her Highlander Series.

The story is sweet and light, an easy read. I enjoyed it, though I'm not sure where to rate it in regards to the first book. I guess I liked them both equally.

Morgan seemed a lot more barbaric than his brother, but I found that it worked for me. At times I laughed out loud. Though certain parts bothered me. I won't spoil it, but I didn't really care for the heroine and the story seemed choppy at times.

Not a must read, but cute. I give it 3.5 out of 5.

This is book is a reread. I'm doing inventory with all my books. Deciding if I want to keep them or get rid of them to make room for new books.

Poor Jillene. Single mom, trying to handle a business. Her husband passed away suddenly leave her in a financial mess. She had no idea their finances were bad. (Ladies, always ask the hubby what's going on with the bills. Don't be left in the dark. If you are the one handling the books, let hubby know what's going on. This is your public service announcement.) She's doing her best trying to budget and not declare bankruptcy.

Vince is a true crime writer. His latest book is haunting him, so he comes home to clear his head. Turns out that the person he's writing about, wanted Vince to make him famous. Vince is having trouble living with that guilt.

This was a cute story. There is a sub plot with Vince's dad, which is touching. Then you have Jillene's daughters trying to help their mom in the dating world. This is a good read, I did like it, but it's not "Oh my god you have to read this!" reading material. C

Suddenly You by Lisa Kleypas

This is one of my favorite Lisa Kleypas books.

The story is sweet, funny and slightly emotional. Watching the tortured Jack Devlin come to care for the independant Miss Briars is sweet.

There are times when I'm mortified beyond belief for her, and times when my heart was breaking.

Overall a great read!

This was a cute, sweet story.

My favorite Jersey Girl had been on me to read this series for years now, but I just finally got around to it this past week.

Due to the bumbling interference of an aging wizard, Greylen MacKeage and 9 others (three of his clan and his life-long enemy Michael McBain and four of his warriors, plus their trusty steeds) are transported 800 years into the future. Though they adapt rather quickly, all of Michael's clansman die over the next four years.

Mary Sutter fled her lover, Michael McBain, when he told her his tale of time-travel, straight to her sister, Grace. When she arrives on her doorstep, Grace is dismayed when she realizes her sister Mary is pregnant. After four months, Mary decides to return to Michael and marry him, but on her way home she's in an automobile accident and dies shortly after giving birth to a son. Not before she extracts a promise from Grace, however, that she'll take the baby to his father to raise. Though Grace isn't sure of his state of mind once Mary reveals his secret, Grace reluctantly agrees.

On the last leg of her journey home, their plance goes down and Greylan MacKeage saves her and Baby's life. There's an immediate attraction between them, but Grace fights it, not used to dealing with her heart. Grey is determined to claim her, though, and doesn't give up.

It was a good story, sweet and light. I've started the second in the series, which promises to be good.

We met Talon in Kyrian's book and although this book is a bit different from Kyrian and Julian's book, it's still a winner in my book. Talon has different powers, different issues and boy does the man have the sexiest tatoo's on a body. This book had me laughing out loud so many times and it also made me fall in love with some Were Hunters....woo hoo! I also met my very favorite Dark Hunter in this book which I'll always be thankful for. hehe.

The book sends us on a powerful journey through New Orleans and really shows us the art of reincarnation. Very cool stuff, Sunshine and Talon were wonderful together and SK just really did a great job with their story. The Dark Hunter family is one of a kind and you see that in this book. The bond between Ash (the Head DH) and the Dark Hunters is friggin' top notch to read about and the humor in this book, along with the action makes for some really great hours of reading.

LOVE it.

I've been on jury duty this past week. I've finished a book for every day I've been at court. What book will I finish tomorrow I wonder.

Anyway, this book was all right. He has to pose as her boyfriend to catch the bad guy, they fall in love. He says "Oh no, it was just because we spent so much time together!" He leaves, realizes he loves her and tells her he was wrong. Of course she does the standard, go away routine. He makes a grand gesture and happily ever after.

Joe was hot. I liked him. Loved how his sisters were telling stories about how they tortured him growing him. I loved Sam. Didn't care for Gabrielle. I don't know why. She just bugged me. Something about her. Her mom was also kind of weird.

Also, Kevin's bedroom. Wow. Kind of creepy and kinky.

Like I said, it was all right. C

I liked Zack. Charming and sweet. He put up with 6 girls competing for his attention. He knew they made a schedule of his time and handled it pretty well. He was looking for a purpose and he found one, with cows. He also fell in love with Caroline. Caroline. sigh...

Her sole purpose was to get into art school. She painted Zack's portrait and fell in love with him. However, she choose her art over marriage to him. Saying if she married him, she wouldn't be able to pursue her dream. Whatever. She knew if she married him, he wouldn't have stood in her way. Hell, he would've done everything to support her. She knew it. (at least in my mind she did) And she still rejected him.

My problem is he went back to her. Oh no, no, no. He should've made her grovel for him. Caroline just bugged the hell out of me.

Other than that, the story was good. If Caroline actually begged for Zack's forgiveness and love, I would enjoyed it more. C

This book is the second in a series. The first is: Sin and Sensibility.

What a great read this book was for me.

It was light and fluffy and not at all like the serious books that I've been reading for the past few months or so. Angela DiFranco was fun, witty and the perfect heroine for this goofy, sometimes silly but at times serious story. It's funny how the author tricks you into liking one character at the beginning of the book and then has you cheering for someone else entirely by the middle of the book. It was really great.

I have a serious mad crush on Justin I don't remember his last name in this book. He was delightful and lonely and needed love more than he let on from the beginning. He transformed before your eyes and made you yearn to be HIS room mate because he was perfect for YOU.

I loved the way this book ended, the way this book flowed, it was a bit cliched (the storyline) but it was a great read nonetheless. I thought about this book long after I finished the book, so much so that I'm STILL thinking of it and I've since started a new book. The characters grab you and reel you in, they become your friends and they have you wishing you were in the audience to support Justin on his big night. I highly recommend this book if you want a feel good, fun loving book to read on those nights when nothing seems to work for you.

Truly, Madly, Yours by Rachel Gibson

This was good read. Although the relationship almost creeped me out. You see, Nick is Delaney's step father's son.

Henry Shaw never acknowledged the fact Nick was his son. When Henry realized Nick was his only chance at an heir, he decided to make nice with Nick. Nick said of course in your dreams. So Henry leaves Nick this huge chunk of land, however, if Nick and Delaney have a sexual relationship, no land for Nick. This was all part of Henry's plan to get these two together. You tell a child no, it's forbidden and the child wants it all the more. So to me this is like Mike Brady telling Greg to ask Marsha out. Ewwwww...

I did like the story. The end did kind of bother me. It was to quick. What happened to Delaney's shop? Did she run Helen (are arc nemesis) out of business? What about her mother? Did she finally tell her mother to lighten up? Did her mother ever get back with Max? Did they get the money and the land? What happened?

I liked this book. I only wish there was an epilogue cause I want to know more! So yeah, check this one out. B

Another Man's Son by Katherine Stone

This is a very touching, emotional story. As with all of her books, it's not a quick, light read, and it's flowery prose can, at times, be a little over the top, bur for the most part I really enjoyed it.

Our story begins with Ian Collier and Kathleen Cahill. They meet when she's in high school and he's trying to talk her into accepting a scholarship that his company offers to select students. We come to find out that her mother had disappeared months before that and she's (Kathleen) is very scarred by it.

Ian talks her into accepting the scholarship and over the years they keep in touch via phone calls and letters. They become great friends with mutual respect for each other, and when Kathleen decides she wants to have children (via artifical insemination) Ian offers to be the donor.

Because he lost a son in a vicious divorce years before this, he wants to marry Kathleen and help her raise their child together. She refuses at first, but comes to understand why he's offered and agrees, sure they'll keep their relationship platonic and friendly.

In the meantime, we meet Sam, Ian's long lost son. Because his mother was a psycho witch he had a horrible childhood and remembers nothing of the time he spent with his father as a child. He left home at age 16 and finally settled in a small town in Oregon, Sarah's Orchard. Sam is sweet and keeps mostly to himself, befriending only a few old ladies that won't leave him alone.

We also meet a good friend of Ian's, lawyer James, and his realtor, Natalie. There's an interesting subplot that evolves from the pair.

All in all, it was a fairly good read. We get lost a little bit in the middle, but she smoothes things out in the end. Though I did think the relationship between Sam and Kathleen was rather rushed at the end.

Not a must read, but if you're in the mood for some Soap Opera type drama, this is the book for you.

Pearl Moon by Katherine Stone

(That the hotel is the Jade Palace, and that Allison and Maylene are the long-separated siblings, will hardly surprise readers.) While Maylene struggles with her conflicted past and romantic present, Allison is falling for the hotel's developer, who is still consumed with thoughts of his dead wife (the Jade Palace will be a monument to her memory). Lurking in the shadows, meanwhile, is a madman set on destroying the Jade Palace and all who stand in his way.

I wasn't all that impressed with this book. Though the character development and storyline are deep and original, I was put off by the Japanese setting. I've never really been that interested in Easter culture and find it, at best, boring. I was intrigued by our sexy Texas heroes, however.

If you're into Eastern Culutre, this would be a great book for you, but it was just so/so in my opinion.

Dance to the Piper by Nora Roberts

Do opposites really attract?

They do in this story. No one could be more completely different than straight laced, business before pleasure, Reed Valentine and fun loving, free spirit Maddy O'Hurley. She's a dancer, he's a big time business mogul. He's the backer for her next Broadway play. They couldn't have been more wrong for each other, but they had love on their side and just when you think there's no hope for them, love comes out and saves the day.

I really enjoyed reading this story, it had all the necessary drama mixed in with a dallop of witty banter and what really drew me to the story was the hope that Maddy never really lost sight of. She knew what she wanted and instead of playing the coy seductress, she seduced Reed with everything that she was.

Herself.

It's a feel good story of two people's journey from friendship to lovers to husband and wife. You'll enjoy this story as much as I did, I'm sure. Very light, which is exactly what I was looking for and NR really delivered with this story.

A treat.

The Last Honest Woman by Nora Roberts

Assumptions really have a way of kicking us in the ass. That was very much the case with one, Mr. Dylan Crosby, investigative reporter turned biographer. His next project was about the greatest race car driver of all time, Chuck Rockwell who's last race turned out to be the last race for him period, the crash that killed him. Chuck Rockwell was by all means, known to the world to have lived his personal life, just as fast as he drove his cars. He married one, Abigail O'Hurley when she was 18 years old and for the first couple of years, she was beside him at every race, at every celebrity function, cheering him on. Then, she fell off the face of the earth. In order, for Dylan's book to really work, he had to get some answers from someone who knew Chuck like no other person did.

Which is where Chuck's widow, Abigail O'Hurley Rockwell came into play.

Chuck had been dead for four years and Abby had turned away book deals before because she didn't want her boys exposed to the half truths and secrets about their father's past, things she didn't want ANYone to know, her boys in particular. But money was really tight and she wanted her boys to have something for their futures, the only way to ensure her boys were taken care of was to finally allow, Dylan Crosby write their father's story. But Chuck's story was going to get written the way she wanted it to get written, she wasn't going to let anyone tell her anything else.

Dylan was going to get to the truth if it killed him, and it damned near did. In order for anything written by him be published, he had to make sure that Mrs. Rockwell understood from the beginning that he would get the answers he sought, he was nothing if not persistent, she better be prepared to be point blank honest with him. Nothing was going to change that.

And then they met.

Dylan's first impressions of her weren't what he expected them to be, instead of finding the spoiled princess type "trophy wife", he found a soccer mom who did everything by herself, with help from no one. What an odd thing to find from a celebrity's wife. Especially, a celebrity such as Chuck Rockwell, who was an all balls to the wall type of guy. He was mighty intrigued by the woman who was indeed the mother and wife of Chuck Rockwell, but who was anything but spoiled and and princess like. She was as refreshing as they come, but honest? The woman was anything but. He would dig and dig until he got the answers he came for, of that you can be sure.
And Abby will protect her secrets with all that she is, because her sons futures depended on it.

The wild rollercoaster of this book was seriously, one of the bests I've read in a very long time. Nothing seriously spooky or action packed or anything, it was an easy fun loving story with the drama of a family who spent years on the road entertaining different crowds, it was a story dedicated to family and the love that comes automatically. I really enjoyed this book and recommend all to read it. Dylan and Abby's story was wonderful and it was one that had me thinking of the characters long after I finished reading it. Ben and Chris are to die for and two of the sweetest boys I have ever had the pleasure of reading about, Nora Roberts does a wonderful job weaving us into this intricate plot to get to the end. There's lots of ups and a fair share of downs, but the ending is sweet and it ends just as it should end.

LOVED it.

Night Pleasures by Sherrilyn Kenyon

Dear Reader,

Or so I thought until one night when I woke up handcuffed to my worst nightmare: a conservative woman in a button-down shirt. Or in Amanda's case, buttoned all the way up to her chin. She's smart, sexy, witty, and wants nothing to do with the paranormal-in other words, me.

My attraction to Amanda Devereaux goes against everything I stand for. Not to mention the last time I fell in love it cost me not only my human life, but also my very soul. Yet every time I look at her, I find myself wanting to try again. Wanting to believe that love and loyalty do exist.

Even more disturbing, I find myself wondering if there's any way a woman like Amanda can love a man whose battle scars run deep, and whose heart was damaged by a betrayal so savage that he's not sure it will ever beat again.

Kyrian of Thrace

The first of the actual Dark Hunter Books. I just finished reading the latest installment of the Dark Hunter books, Unleash the Night and can't get enough of these sexy Daimon hunters, these studs of the night. So, I couldn't help BUT start a reread of these books. I finished my reread of Night Play on Saturday night (1/07) and boy oh boy was I stoked to start the next one, however Night Embrace is in my desk drawer at work, so I started on another book until I could nab my book from work. hehe.

But, back to Night Pleasures. Kyrian of Thrace is one sexy motherbrother. He's one of those guys that junior high girls tape to their walls at home, the kind of man older women dream of having an affair with, this man is simply the whole package. And he never dies? Oh yeah, he'll slay your demons, he'll love you all night and he'll give you the big O plenty of times, you'll be sore for a week. The stuff dreams are made of, that's Kyrian of Thrace for you.

His story is one of my favorites of the series, and I love him to pieces. The story of him and Theone, in his mortal life really breaks my heart. No one deserves to be hurt like that, especially since most warriors of his time were almost NEVER loyal or faithful to their vows to their wives at home, but Kyrian was. Kyrian never once cheated on Theone, he was utterly and completely in love with his wife and saw no reason to dishonor the vows he made to her. But to come home and be betrayed by the one person you loved most in the world, the woman you left your family for, the woman who was supposed to love you with all that she was, just as you loved her with all that you are, it's something that isn't easily forgotten.

But I do believe that to truly move on from being hurt from one person, is to really move on to the next person. You can't and won't get over an ex if there isn't a new prospect waiting to teach you how to love again. I was really cheering Amanda on because she had a lot going against her in this story. Kyrian wasn't going to allow anyone to get close to him, but she broke through his defenses and saved him. Restore his faith in women, restored his faith in trusting others and it really was a great way to end the story.

This book is most definitely a must read. Just ask anyone of the many people I've pimped this book out to, they'll tell you how awesome it is. So, get it, read it and love it. I have no doubt that you will.

This is the second book in The Goddesses series. Aphrodite, the goddess of love. Basically, she's a little slut. She sleeps around with all the handsome men. She truly loves Ares though, who loves to fight and is just itching for a war.

What kind of bummed me out about this book, is tells how Aphrodite is getting older, but she is still beautiful. I don't want to think of the goddess of love old and with corns. Just something I can't comprehend. I give it a C-.

About two years ago, someone suggested I read Judith McNaught. I was told by said person that she was an amazing writer and I'd love every book she'd ever written. Being the resourceful person I am, I found an auction of her books on Ebay. It included all but Someone To Watch Over Me. I found that one in a used bookstore a week after I won the action on Ebay.

I caught the flu the day before my books arrived and ended up home sick from work for a week. Luckily, I had the JM's I'd ordered to keep me from going insane between boughts of vomitting.

I loved them. Every last book.

I loved them so much in fact, that I re-read every book as soon as I finished it and then numerous times over the last 2 years.

Unfortunately, the more I read them, and other romance novels, the more irritated I became with them. Partly because I found several flaws with the heroes and heroines and partly, I think, because she hadn't released another book in all that time.

She'd had this book, EBYT, scheduled to be released several times last year and it never had been. Every time it was pushed back, I got a little more angry. And it finally got to the point where I'd decided I wasn't going to buy it at all when (or if) it finally was released.

Let me just take a moment now to say: Judith, I'm so very sorry I doubted you!

Unlike Night Whispers and Someone To Watch Over Me, Every Breath You Take is a throw back to some of her earlier works. The storyline is a good one, the hero is sexy as hell and tortured enough that my heart went out to him. The heroine is smart, witty and lovely.

There were several times when I laughed out loud, cried, or gasped in dismay. I sighed dreamily. I cursed the characters. I was tempted to throw the book, and to hug it to my chest. All in all, it was an amazing read.

Walking up behind her, he slid his arms around her and drew her back against his chest. "Let's get complicated, Kate," he said with a smile in his voice.

"Put your arms around me and wrap us up in magic. I can't do it without you."

His hand curved around her nape, his thumb forcing her chin up, and he looked at her with tender solemnity. "We lay in bed and watched the sun come up though we could hardly hold our eyes open, because neither of us wanted to miss out on a minute of being together."
Lowering his head, he touched his mouth to the corner of hers. "I missed you so much, for so long," he whispered. "I missed our magic."
Kate was lost.

Really, you should do yourself a favor and read this. You won't be disappointed!

The Wedding by Julie Garwood

The Wedding is quite possibly my all time favorite historical romance novel. It's witty, sweet, touching and very well written.


Journeying from England to Scotland to wed a higlander, Lady Brenna was resigned to the arranged match. But when a band of fierce, painted warriors captured her en route, she fearlessly met their demand to marry their leader - the quick-tempered laird Connor MacAlister. Connor is one of my top 3 all time favorite heroes. He's just perfect. And I think Brenna compliments him very well.

An absolute must read!

Didn't he understand she needed praise and comfort to give her the reassurance she ached for?
No of course he didn't know. The insensitive bear didn't even know what comfort was.

She stopped protesting as soon as he bagan reciting, flinched when he repeated certain words, such as "pig" and "goat" and "Horse's backside," and by the time he finsihed, she'd lowered her head in shame and embarrassment.

And then he pulled her up against him, tilted her head back, and kissed her long and hard and thoroughly. It was a kiss he wanted her to remember, and one he nwould never forget. he made love to her with his mouth, telling her with his passion that he had forgive her, and letting her know with ihs gentle touch that he meant to have her forgivness as well.

A-LOVED this book. It will never leave my library. If I borrowed it, I'll buy it as soon as possible. Will reread often or go back to read my favorite parts.

B- I liked the book. It may or may not stay in my library. Probably won't get reread much.

C-Indifference. I didn't like it, I didn't hate it. Will be taken to the UBS

D-Didn't care for it. Didn't keep my interest. Story was dull. Will be taken back the UBS

F- Hated it. For sure going back to the UBS and will wish I hadn't wasted my time on it.

This is the first book in the Bow Street Runner series. Grant Morgan doesn't care for Miss Vivien. Seems when he snubbed her, she told everyone she turned him down. When Grant finds Vivien almost drowned, he decides to take advantage of her. He wants to hurt her like she hurt him.

This book was good. It wasn't great, but it had a good story line. I didn't like how Morgan wanted to hurt Vivien in her vulnerable state. Loved how he had to apologize to her in the end though. All in all a good read. I give a C.

This author has taken the Greek myths and wrote their stories as if they were mortal beings. If the first book of The goddesses Series, she writes about Persephone and Hades.

In this book, she writes how Demeter lets Persephone run wild. However, she doesn't want Persephone to be courted or married. She tells Persephone men are basically scum. Persephone is kidnapped by Hades it's with him she experiences freedom her mother never allowed her before. In the end, she must choose living with her mother or living with man she's grown to love.

I enjoyed reading this book. It basically retells the myth so you understand it. What I thought was a different twist is that the author writes about the characters as mortal beings. I give it a C+
