Savage Arrow by Cassie Edwards
For sweet Jessie Pilson the wild and wooly Western town seemed the end of the line. First orphaned and then widowed, she had no one to turn to except a distant cousin who had made a fortune in silver there. But when outlaws attacked her stagecoach and she was rescued by a handsome Sioux chief, she began to hope her luck had changed. Thunder Horse took her breath away with his intense black eyes and perfect body. She would let nothing keep her from his sensual embrace, not even her cousin's insistence that she remain a virtual prisoner in his home. Thunder Horse had set his sights on Jessie and pierced her heart with a Â
savage arrow. This is a light read. It started off really good. Jessie is a pregnant widow. With nothing left in her hometown of Kanas City, she travels to Tombstone. On the way some bandits steal her stuff and then spook the horses leaving her in the stagecoach.Chieff Thunder Horse saves her and is drawn to her.
He watches from afar to make sure she makes it safely to town. He is disgusted when he sees who she is staying with. Her cousin Reginald. Turns out he stole silver fromthunderr Horses's peoples sacred cave. It is where they bury the dead.
Jessie is frightened by his cousin. He slams the piano key cover on her hands, tells her he's taking her to the doctor to have her baby aborted. She flees during the night to Chief Thunder Horse's village.
At this point, I felt as if the story was being rushed. I thought it had potential.
